1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 g6 3.Nc3 d5 4.Bf4 Bg7 5.e3 O-O 6.Be2 c5 7.Ne5 Nc6

{We should have started from here, we both knew what the other would play. I think this is the best way to combat the barry attack. Try to attack the middle.)

8.Qd2 Qa5 9.h4 Nd7

{my only source on this opening suggests the h4 kingside assault was not a good idea when Black has played c5 and Nc6. My plan with Nd7 was to try to force some exchanges, although now I'm not sure about the move. Perhaps I should exchange knights on e5 before i play Nd7?}

10.Nxc6 bxc6 11.h5 e5

{going with the idea of attacking through the middle, although perhaps I should have undoubled my pawns beforehand.}

12.dxe5 Nxe5 13.e4 d4

{on the other hand, my pawn on c5 was good at allowing me to play d4}

14.Nb1 Qxd2+

{Maybe exchanging was bad here as it let the knight back in. On the other hand, the threats on my kingside looked scary. Qc7 maybe?}

15.Nxd2 Be6 16.hxg6 Nxg6

{I go a bit wrong here. I was worried about something and now I forget, so it's possible i imagined the danger}

17.Bd6 Rfd8 18.Bxc5 d3

{this seemed like an interesting try.}

19.cxd3 Bxb2

{Nf4 was something I looked at. Not sure why I didn't try it. Unless I'm missing something I'm going to either take g2 or d3, with probably the opportunity to grab a2 and or b2 later.}

20.Rb1 Bg7

{I've just wasted a bishop move and allowed white to restrict my knight}

21.g3 Bxa2 22.Rb7 Ne5 23.d4 Nd7 24.Bxa7 c5

{I think I found this idea, dismissed it, then came back to it having not found anything better. Was hoping for exchange then complicate matters by pinning the knight}

25.d5 Bd4 26.Rh6 Ne5 27.Ra6

{and time to call it a day.)
